A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Greetings TLC Family,
It is with great excitement that I accept the position as Center Director of Tylertown Learning Center! I am very grateful that the opportunity presented itself when it did. It was a time of needed change for me and after some praying on the matter, I came across the job opening and reached out. For me it was definitely God intervening and placing me where I needed to be.
I have had a passion for Early Childhood Education since 2001 when I started as a toddler teacher. Most of my classroom experience was between toddlers and older pre-k kids. After I finished my degree I switched to the administration side and have worked on this side for the past 9 years. I love being able to help the families, kids and staff.
I have had the opportunity to work with some great Directors and Assistant Directors over the past 9 years to help build my knowledge in administration. I look forward to collaborating with Ms. Daisy Edmonds as Assistant Director, and I trust is a great asset to the administration team.
One thing to know about me is I am here for you, your children and my staff. I want my parents to feel/know they are dropping their children off in a safe and secure environment. I want the children to have a safe place to come with loving teachers who teach and provide for them daily. I want the staff to know they have someone they can come to for help and encouragement at any time.
Philippians 4:13 “I can endure all these things through the power of the one who gives me strength.”
LETTER FROM ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Greetings Families of TLC,
It is my honor, with excitement, humility, and gratitude to introduce myself
to the TLC community as the newly appointed Assistant Director. My name is Shasta “Daisy”, and I have been a resident of Clarksville, TN since 2015. I began the ministry of working with young children and their families as a preteen and have been serving ever since in a plethora of capacities. While most work was done firsthand with the children as a classroom volunteer, nanny, assistant teacher, lead teacher, assistant youth pastor, and certified mentor; I have also done some background support and logistics for programs in the last 20 plus years. My formal education in early childhood education began in 2017 as I wanted to make sure I maintained up to date knowledge and training in the field I love so dearly.
It has always been my passion and drive to provide quality care to all
families I have encountered. For a few years I have felt the gifts of administration coming to the forefront of my work, and I silently watched many other administrative teams before me and gleaned. I initially joined the Tylertown Learning Center team in August 2020 by stepping out on faith, believing my steps were being ordered by the Lord God, to be the lead teacher of the Toddler Room. Once I met Mrs. Ruth and Mrs. Breanna, I knew once more that I could look at their character and skill as an example of what I would one day be able to pursue in the Lords perfect timing.
I will continue to glean and learn along the way with much prayer and trust in the Lord. I will strive to be a strong support to all early childhood educators here in the TLC family and to be an advocating bridge for our families as the new assistant director. Thank you for receiving me in this new season we embark upon together. Let us love God and love people.
Mrs. S. “Daisy” Edmonds
